I forgot to update the blog — this was done 2 weeks ago.
I wanted to get started with writing a diary but the lack of feedback made it not compelling for me. So I built Book of Life — a journaling app that talks back.
You write journal entries, and AI extracts entities from them — people, places, themes, emotions. Over time it builds a knowledge graph of your life. Then it generates insights about patterns you didn't notice, and weaves your entries into story chapters like your life is a book.
The insights are really impressive. I've been journaling about going to the sauna a lot, and about feeling like I haven't arrived yet. The app generated this story chapter that said I might be distracting myself with self-care rituals rather than sitting quietly with my own disappointment. That one hit different. It also caught that every single late night I logged came with fatigue, and that social comparison is a new theme that's already showing up paired with negative emotions.

This app is a way for me to build a habit of reflecting and being comfortable with my own thoughts.
